Vision Correction

FemtoLASIK

Bladeless, all-laser vision correction for sharp, glasses-free sight with exceptional precision.

What is FemtoLASIK?

FemtoLASIK is the gold-standard evolution of traditional LASIK surgery. Using two distinct lasers — a femtosecond laser to create the corneal flap and an excimer laser to reshape the corneal tissue — it corrects refractive errors with an unprecedented level of accuracy and safety.

Unlike traditional LASIK which uses a blade (microkeratome), FemtoLASIK is entirely bladeless. This results in a more uniform flap, reduced risk of complications, and better visual outcomes, particularly for patients with higher prescriptions.

Why Choose FemtoLASIK?

Bladeless Precision

The femtosecond laser creates a perfectly uniform corneal flap with no physical blade involved, dramatically reducing risk.

Rapid Recovery

Most patients achieve functional vision within 24 hours and return to normal activities within days.

Long-lasting Results

The corneal reshaping is permanent. The vast majority of patients achieve 20/20 vision or better.

Customisable Treatment

Wavefront-guided technology maps the unique imperfections of your eye for a fully customised correction.

Are You a Candidate?

Age 18 or older with stable prescription for at least 1 year

Myopia (short-sightedness), hyperopia, or astigmatism

Adequate corneal thickness confirmed by topography

No active eye disease or dry eye syndrome

Realistic expectations about the outcome

The Procedure

1

Pre-op Screening

Corneal topography, wavefront analysis, pupil measurement, and dry-eye testing to confirm candidacy.

2

Flap Creation

The femtosecond laser creates a precise, thin corneal flap in under 30 seconds per eye.

3

Corneal Reshaping

The excimer laser removes microscopic amounts of corneal tissue to correct your exact prescription.

4

Flap Repositioning

The flap is gently repositioned and adheres naturally — no stitches required. Vision improves within hours.

Also Available: FemtoSMILE

A flapless, keyhole laser vision correction procedure — the latest evolution in refractive surgery.

What is FemtoSMILE?

SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction) is a minimally invasive, flapless laser refractive procedure that corrects myopia and astigmatism through a tiny 2–4 mm keyhole incision. Unlike FemtoLASIK, no corneal flap is created — a small lenticule of tissue is precisely cut by the femtosecond laser and removed through the microincision.

FemtoSMILE preserves significantly more corneal biomechanical strength than LASIK, making it ideal for patients with active lifestyles, contact sports, or mild dry eye. It offers comparable visual outcomes to FemtoLASIK with less postoperative surface sensitivity and a reduced risk of flap complications.

FemtoSMILE Procedure

Flapless Procedure

No corneal flap is created, eliminating flap-related risks and preserving greater corneal structural integrity.

Less Dry Eye

Fewer corneal nerve fibres are disrupted compared to LASIK, resulting in less postoperative dry eye symptoms.

Keyhole Incision

A tiny 2–4 mm incision heals rapidly, making it ideal for physically active patients and contact sport athletes.

Comparable Outcomes

Achieves 20/20 vision or better in the majority of patients, with excellent contrast sensitivity and night vision.
